An Intimate Look At The Legacy, Intention, And The Vision Behind Vail’s Newest Private Membership Club

A Conversation With Founder Brad Kaemmer, THE SIXTY TWO™ Society-Legacy, Hospitality, and the Future of Vail

THE SIXTY TWO™ Society
Legacy, Hospitality, and the Future of Vail

Interviewer: What inspired you to bring your family’s legacy project to life in Vail after all these years away?

Brad Kaemmer
“This project is something I have envisioned my entire life since I left in 1990. My family helped shape the early hospitality landscape of Vail, and bringing this inspiration forward feels like honoring everything they built with the other early pioneers. It’s a generational tribute; my opportunity to create something meaningful in the community that raised me and drove my life and professional career in a meaningful way.”

How will THE SIXTY TWO™ Society reflect the spirit of early Vail?

“Early Vail had a warmth and survival passion to it…..a pioneering spirit, genuine hospitality, and a sense of community that you could feel the moment you walked into any establishment. THE SIXTY TWO™ Society is my way of reviving that feeling. Smaller, more personal, curated, differentiated, more connected, less spectacle, with genuine substance & personal attention.”

Why create a boutique, independently owned club in today’s crowded luxury landscape?

“Because boutique connection is where the true heart and genuine hospitality lives. Independent ownership allows us to put people before process, hospitality before scale, and connection before mass overcrowding. We are privileged to build something personal, and most importantly something that doesn’t answer to a boardroom, Wall Street, but rather to our members’ desires, wants and needs.”

What does it mean to build steps from Gondola One, in such an iconic part of Vail Village?

“It’s surreal. Our location at the top of Bridge Street and the nucleus of Vail Village is truly sacred ground. Being able to create something remarkable for members in that exact location, literally steps from everything that makes Vail iconic, is a privilege. Rest assured, I do not take that responsibility lightly and I will not squander the coveted opportunity.”

How does the location shape the experience you want Members to have?

“It gives our Society Members immediate and seamless access with none of the chaos or the strife that is traditional with a day of skiing and / or dining. It sets the tone for effortless mornings, First Tracks, flawless ski days, family camaraderie and most importantly, a sense of calm enjoyment in the middle of the Mountain’s true heartbeat.”

How do you envision the dining experience setting THE SIXTY TWO™ Society apart?

“Culinary leadership coupled with restaurant operational excellence is our foundation. With Chef Nicolas Ferreira, Chef Mark Adair, & Sommelier Doug Frost, we are building something that moves far beyond traditional ‘club food.’ It’s intentional, soulful, and rooted in genuine professional craftsmanship. Our members will feel it in every meal, every pour, every service touch point and personal interaction.”

What made Chef Nicolas Ferreira, Chef Mark Adair, and MS & MW Doug Frost the right leaders for this project?

“Because they are the best of the best, great operators and incredibly good human beings that I personally know and trust. Chef Nicolas brings unparalleled product sourcing knowledge and refined flavor experiences from The French Laundry & Per Se. Chef Mark is masterful in infrastructure creation, kitchen design, menu creativity, and overall technical operational brilliance. Doug Frost brings one of the most respected wine pedigrees in the entire world, being one of only four Master Sommeliers & Wine Masters on the planet. Together, we will elevate the entire experience to a noteworthy level.”

Why is cuisine coupled with skiing such a central pillar of the Member experience?

“Food connects people in meaningful ways like none other, most similar to an epic day with friends & family on the hill; it always has and always will. In tandem, when you get the cuisine & dining experience right, the conditions and location are iconic, everything else follows naturally to cherished and unforgettable memories. Connection, conversation, and community are the soul of our space and cornerstone to how we will operate.”

You often talk about redefining ‘Hospitality in Vail.’ What does that mean to you?

“It means returning to intentionality, anticipating every guest’s need and treating Society Members like family, not commerce or just a sheer volume or numbers game. Hospitality is not a script and there is a drastic difference between it and basic service; it is an elevated feeling of calculated comfort. I want people to walk in and feel instantly taken care of and further that guests are planning their next visit to the restaurant while still inside our four walls.”

How will Members feel when they walk through the doors for the first time?

“Comfortably at home, relaxed, peaceful and sincerely welcomed. The space was ultimately designed with members' intentions in mind. From a soft seating convivial area we call the ‘Members Only Living Room’, to a more formal dining area ‘The Members Only Society Suite’ or even a casual cocktail at the bar, the opportunity to create unique distinguished experiences was specific and with purpose.”

What does ‘Anticipatory Service’ look like in the context of THE SIXTY TWO™ Society?

“It’s knowing what our guests want before they even say or decide they need it……their table, their drink, their routine, their rhythm. It’s service with a scripted and studied memory, not just service with manners and operational technique.”

Why was limiting membership to just 62 families such an essential part of the vision?

“Because intimacy, privacy and exclusivity always matter. Limiting our membership preserves a unique sense of space, comfort, uninhibited access, and curating genuine and meaningful connections. It maintains the highest standards we will deliver daily. And yes—it's also a nod to 1962, when Vail’s story began and my family settled in the Vail Village.”

What kind of people have you seen being drawn to this differentiated membership club experience?

“People who appreciate detailed experiences over excess. Families who value profound connection while sharing time together in the greatest ski resort on Earth. Individuals who understand that luxury doesn’t necessarily need to be loud, it just needs to be personal, intentional and tailored.”

What do you hope families and individual members will experience and remember for decades to come?

“Memories, rituals and cherished connection moments that become part of their family story and personal legacy. I want this to be the place where generations gather, relationships blossom; where everyone feels part of something lasting, meaningful and etched into tradition.”

What details within the build-out feel especially meaningful to you?

“A tribute to Donovan’s Copper Bar, the original trail map etched in the onyx back bar, Vail’s two first original ski posters drawn by my uncle, the herringbone mesquite wood tones sourced out of my wife’s family’s ranch in central Texas, the reimagined Christiana glass & rod iron door. The way the space breathes a design objective; everything we have structured is built to feel warm, natural, and personal, and nothing feels over-designed or forced. It’s the kind of space you want to linger in, time and again.”

What excites you most about the team bringing this project to life—KH Webb, RA Nelson, A3 Design, and your hospitality leadership?

“Their craftsmanship, their vision, their passion and their professional project expertise. They are not building just another facility; they are breathing life into my legacy dream project. Every detail reflects intention, obsession, and outfitted brilliance.”

What do you imagine that first ski season feeling like?

“Without question, the start of something remarkable that is full of energy, excitement and culinary entertainment. Effortless mornings, familiar faces, and where your skis, transportation, and espresso are always ready and waiting; your table and experience are consistently set for perfection. A true convivial home at the base of Vail Mountain.”

When you think about the Society 10 years from now, what do you hope it stands for?

“Legacy. Community. Hospitality. All done very right at the highest level and without deviation. A place people speak about with pride and affection because it represents something real, not contrived, yet always noteworthy.”

What do you believe THE SIXTY TWO™ Society will add to Vail that doesn’t currently exist?

“A return to intimacy, a pioneering spirit, and an ownership present mentality. True hospitality at its most granular level. Genuine connections, an elevated culinary entertainment culture built on talent first—not hype, and a feeling of peace and tranquility at one of the most iconic locations in the world.”

What does bringing this ‘Vision to Life’ mean to you personally?

“Everything. It’s the perfect trifecta: a culmination of my career in the restaurant industry, my family’s legacy in the Vail Village, and my love for how the spirit of the mountain brings the best out of people. It is the capstone project I have worked my entire career to build, where success in creating lasting memories is paramount.”

The alpine club landscape in Vail is mature and yet unfortunately largely static and predictable. Most established clubs operate at or beyond capacity, structured around dated facilities, tenure, and volume preservation as a mantra. THE SIXTY TWO™ Society Vail is not built on that model and counterculture to that repetition. We are not scaling amenities. We are engineering experiences, elevating the overall culinary landscape, and most importantly, we are playing offense not defense. Where others lead with square footage and locker room assignments, we lead with genuine hospitality, culinary entertainment authority, and recurring social engagement opportunities. Chef-driven programming, seasonal dining, winemaker and spirits events, and curated gatherings are not secondary offerings; they are the mechanism through which our membership community compounds. Understand, this is a locally owned and operated hospitality first and top tier culinary structure with all the traditional club amenities, plus 10X. Member-priority reservation dining, internal concierge coordination, Gorsuch ski valet services, complimentary transportation availability ease, and intentional structured social programming only create energy and retain value when access is curated. Our restrained membership scale is strategic, as growth without limits erodes intimacy, and intimacy is our vision. At the same time, the membership club market is shifting. Across the Valley, increasingly rigid membership structures are creating friction for families navigating generational transitions and tenure. We believe long-term social capital is built through family legacy continuity, not contraction. Flexibility, applied with judgment, preserves participation across seasons of life without compromising standards and that is our North Star at THE SIXTY TWO™ Society Vail . Emotional connection is not an aspirational language for me here; it is the operating objective. Members are to be known, remembered, and needs anticipated far in advance. Familiarity replaces anonymity, and extended family participation replaces passive access or strictness. The interior design environment reinforces this distinction…..refined yet inviting, elevated without pretense. This is not just another locker room with a liquor license a basket of granola bars and cooler of bottled water. It is a refined hospitality-driven alpine Society designed to convert proximity into participation and participation into social capital. Founder Membership is advancing toward capacity, and our momentum is clearly measurable. As availability narrows, the next chapter will naturally shift to another waitlist. Our model only works with a disciplined scale. Once capacity is reached, it will be protected. We are not following the old-school traditional legacy template. We are setting a new membership hierarchy standard at the base of Gondola One …..where hospitality, unparalleled food and beverage, sincere convivial connection, curate the holistic experience. This is a differentiated business model and membership momentum guarantees it. Rest assured, we have broken the mold and reinvented what the future holds at the top of Bridge Street. In Vail, long membership waitlists have quietly become part of the alpine landscape…..however, there is a surgical cadence to how something like THE SIXTY TWO™ Society is coming together. The majority of the Valley’s most established clubs reached capacity many years ago, and access now requires significant patience often with no material end in sight. We are in a different phase of our business lifecycle, one where Founder Memberships are currently still available , steadily taking shape yet diminishing, as like-minded families commit to generational access. Unfortunately, many families find themselves waiting for a moment that never quite arrives on queue; at least for now. Our focus has been on assembling the right membership community from the onset. We continue shaping what will become one of the most thoughtfully built alpine clubs that is culinary forward and exclusive at the base of Gondola One. Our ethos thus far has been on assembling the membership thoughtfully and at the right pace. However, the scale of the Membership is ultimately fixed. Once capacity is reached, the next waitlist chapter will naturally begin. Member-priority dining, concierge coordination, ski valet services, transportation availability, and curated social gatherings are paramount; these services are only meaningful because access remains intentionally limited. “ Growth without intentional boundaries would compromise the overall member experience and we made the decision early on to protect the integrity of curated access.” The scale of the Membership Society is fixed. The hospitality is personal by design. If you have been considering a differentiated level of membership, whether for family continuity , ease during peak season, or simply having a place that feels consistent and known, this is the season to decide while participation remains open . The experience only works because the size is naturally protected. The opportunity is open. It will not remain that way indefinitely. Please reach out to learn more about our offering.
